Blog space for Shaun Mcbride

Jax's lump is fortunately not of the metastatic sort . Elise says that it can recur, so we are hoping she got all of it. She is taking her convalescence seriously it seems. Her sense of humor is not quite back, but she is being rather affectionate.
Our new furnace works beautifully and since it now stands in the corner of the basement, we gained a bit of space down there. This furnace vents directly to the outside through the wall. When it clicks on, a bunch of steam comes out of the house in the front. It almost looks like the house is on fire. Marco and I decided we'll have Jerry make us a dragon head to stick on there.

Space Dog

Jax is doing well. She let me clean her sutures today after popping herself open a few days ago, thinking she could attack the neighbor dog, Utah, while he visited Diesel. She didn't pop any stitches, but just bled a little. She managed to get one suture out of her paw so now she is wearing her cone. She has a clear one with a velcro closure. Someone stopped as they walked by and asked us where we got it. She looks like she should be in a Fra Angelico painting.

OK, I wasn't done with that blog and the buttons disappeared when I wrote more than 6 lines in the upper, active window. So, do I only get to say a certain amount? I just traded massages with a woman last week and after spending 2- 90+ minute sessions with her, she made the comment "You have a lot to say". I don't know entirely what she meant by that, but it was within the context of describing myself as a bit of a recluse. Anyway, I'm getting to that point where the buttons are going to take away their offer of "post&publish" so I'd better act now!!

Well hello. It seems I have my buttons back. Last time I tried to post they would disappear just when I needed them. It must have been that whatever I had to say wasn't very important!
Jax had another surgery on Friday. Other than the big lump on her neck, they took off 5 or 6 others. The big lump, says Elise, our vet, does not look good. It was pretty aggressive and had grown into the skin, so she had to take off quite a bit of skin as well. Now Jax has a funny place where her skin didn't line up when she stitched her up.
